Fanatic board: It’s early days for me on the brand, but the Twin Fin 84 is sweeeeet and sure to become a firm favourite of mine. I’ve had a couple of quick sessions on the AllwWve 92 & also the Ray 125 and they suggested that there will be much to like about all my new boards!! Just the Freewave 104 left to get wet …..
Favourite manoeuvre: Gotta luv the big ass jumping and getting the wave riding dialled. Underwater backlooping doesn’t come highly recommended though!
How I started Windsurfing: Long story, but all started when I got myself a VW Baja Bug … back in the day … leading me to more time at the beach and subsequently an impulse purchase of a Vinta 330 ‘speed’ with 6.0m rig started me out with annual trips to the beach to try and figure the sport out. Only took it a bit more seriously after a footy injury freed up my weekends a bit and I wanted something else to keep me fit. From there, got into racing and gave the Techno Cup a go, then moved into Formula, and since moved back to funboard racing with slalom taking my fancy.
Best windsurfing day in my life: There have been many, including formula racing with dolphins at Marazion, getting in 7 rounds of slalom in one afternoon at Brest in strong winds, many of my sessions at Camber, and all my sessions with windsurfing buddies wherever.
Other sponsors besides Fanatic: www.4boards.co.uk, North Sails
My Goals: Next step … get my sorry ass looping, plus continue to develop Eastbourne Extreme as a major event, along with one or two other plans to promote windsurfing in the UK.
My Slogan: Sorry, gotta board meeting scheduled …. I’m outta here ;-)
