Fanatic at Surf Festival Fehmarn

The Surf Festival on Fehmarn was very successful. Within 4 days windsurfers hat the
chance to test the latest Fanatic boards 2007 and also get some valuable tips from
our team.

It was especially nice to see so many young people there who are interested in our sport!

As special guests we had the Freestyle World Champ Gollito Estredo (V-01) and also
Klaas Voget (G-4). Gollito also won the Freestyle Supersession on Thursday! Unfortunately
Klaas could not show his performance on the water, since he broke his nose during the
previous Windsurf Challenge event in Morocco. He was quite busy signing autographs and posters though!

Fanatic rider Dirk Hanel was the only Kiter who competed in the Surf Around the Island and as well the first kiter at all who did this distance on a kiteboard! Well done Dirk!

The Race around Fehmarn is a long distance race around the Baltic Sea island Fehmarn.
Three windsurfer compete against Kitesurfer and Hobie Cat around the classic long distance
course of 100 Kilometres. The competitors have to pass 3 buoys and the race starts at a
minimum wind force of 4 Beaufort.
Windsurfer Björn Dunkerbeck broke the 3 hours barrier and crossed the finish Line after 2 hours and 54 Minutes. Bernd flessner came in 2nd after 3 hours and 6 Minutes. Ingo Delius and Katrin Weisse Dose had to fight with a broken harness line of their Hobie Cat 16, but managed to cross the finish line after 4 hours and 53 Minutes in front of kitesurfer
