The Fanatic Skate TE 98 is the clear test winner in their Freestyle Test in latest issue 10-08 of German surf magazine!!!
On top it´s the lightest and most price agressive board amongst the top 3 brand (JP, Starboard, Fanatic)!

Test report Fanatic Skate 98 TE, German surf magazine 10-08:
On the beach: With only 5,75kg the Fanatic is, together with Hifly, the lightest board in its category. Remarkable is the thick voluminous tail and the wide squash nose. The footpads are thick und the super soft straps are adjustable and with a metal plate allow for wider/narrower stance and the rear strap does not move, due to the 4 screw system.
On the water: It’s predecessor shone as a top allrounder and with the new Skate, the Fanatic crew around shaper Sebastian Wenzel is now one step ahead: the board impresses with very good planning and acceleration abilities, controlled and planes free and agile; in combination with the light weight its just perfect for chop jumping and loops. Also for Willy Skippers or Air Jibes, the Fanatic feels playable light and hardly need effort to manoeuvre. With all slide rotations like Spock variations and Flakas you feel just great and easy on deck, the board slides radical and is still easy to control. Especially Switch Stance moves are a pleasure on the Skate: where other boards easily stall or slow down, the Skate keeps the speed while changing to switch, also the soft straps offer very comfortable stance. Also lovers of classic moves will find their luck with the Skate, the Fanatic is agile and easy to turn, even during carving moves it stays easy and controllable on the rail. Also whilst doing manoeuvres like Duck Jibes and Gybes, the Skate keeps planing in excellent fashion.
Summary of characteristics: Fanatic has hit the target user perfectly, there should be hardly any Freestyler who will not have fun with this board: from planed through duck Jibes up to radical Switch Stance Moves there is nothing, which is not possible on the feather-light and agile board. Because of its very good planing abilities, this board is also perfect for heavier Windsurfers and bigger sails. surf Tip: Best allrounder 2009!!!
