Pierre Mortefan joins Team Fanatic France!

11.01.2010

We are happy to announce that the young French talent Pierre Mortefon has joined the National Team France!

Pierre Mortefon:
"After a nice season 2009 with podiums on the French tour and discovering the PWA, I am super happy to join the Fanatic/North Sails/ION teams for 2010. I tried the new gear and I’m super happy, it is fast and easy. The contact with the team managers is really friendly and excellent, I’m listened and we are very confident for the upcoming season, I’m ready to defend their colours and they give me what I need. This year will be very exciting with the schedule for the PWA and the AFF French tour. It is not easy to switch to new brands and I would like to thank JP/Pryde for the last 3 years, but this change gives me a new motivation, and now I’m going to invest 100% of my energy to win!"

Fanatic Brand Manager Craig Gertenbach:“We have been watching Pierre´s progress the last seasons and were very impressed with his fast progress, especially his 2009 season was very impressive! Pierre is the perfect addition to our slalom team and will re-inforce our continued support of slalom racing, in both the French Tour and the PWA World Tour. We look forward to Pierre´s results this season on our Falcon slalom boards, and a bright future together!”

Laurent Cuoq et Erwan Bordier (Fanatic/North Sails/ION France):
"At 15 , Pierre was very impressive with his speed and his slide. With 20 years he is even faster and shows us that he is solid, serious and want to push his talent to the highest level possible. We are happy to support a new French hope for international windsurfing. He will help us to promote the new Fanatic Slalom boards and North Sails Slalom rigs. He will be equipped with ION wetsuits, harnesses, bags and clothing. We wish Pierre a lot of success and good luck for this new year 2010! And of course also a lot of fun riding with his new equipment."

Best Results 2009:
- Winner of the French Tour Final
- 3rd Overall French Champ
- 2nd Promotional French Ranking
- 18th PWA Slalom Turkey

Interview by Fanatic 01/2010:

1. Welcome to Fanatic! What were your reasons to join the Fanatic team?¶
This year was very good for me, and I want to get even better in 2010. After some dicussion with France and International, Fanatic decided to integrate me. The boards are very good and the team astmosphere is excellent. I like that! I’m ready for a good season.¶

2. Did you get a chance to try any of our boards yet, if yes which ones and what do you think?¶
Actually, I can try just my Falcon 133 and the 102. The 133 planes very quickly, the board seems like a air cushion. The 102 is very fast with unreal control when the wind become stronger, I like this board!¶

3. How are your plans? What kind of events are you doing in 2010?
¶
Actually, I finish my school exam and I will flight the 14th to St Barthélèmy Island in the Caribbean to train during 1 month with Antoine Questel. The temperatures seem more comfortable to sail than France currently. After that I will spend some time in Almanare to test and get my news fins with JJ. Deboichet and after just before the beginning of the season, I will go to Tarifa to test all my equipement and do the final settings. In 2010, I´m planning to do all events of the PWA and of the AFF (French Tour).¶

4. Which goals do you want to reach in 2010?¶
This season my goal is to win the French AFF tour with 4 events. And I want to reach the Top 15 in PWA.¶
