WSA Tour Final Slalom Langebaan-Tom Malina 2nd!
2010/01/26
The final event of WSA windsurfing tour took place from 21st till 24th of January in Langebaan, South Africa. With over 40 riders competing in Slalom and wave disciplines and some well known names as Ben v.d. Steen or Hennie Bredenkamp on the starting line. First day they finished four races with the wind between 15-25knts. Format of the course was 2 laps of typical “8” with total length of 6km.
Fanatic rider Tom Malina (CZE-109):
"I used my new Falcon 102 which I feel pretty comfortable and fast on in this kind of conditions. I finished all races in 2nd place just behind Ben, who was pretty fast and it was pretty hard to beat him especially on the straight line. Even if the forecast was not looking good for the rest of the event we did 3 more races on Saturday with the wind just above 12knt. 9km long downwind course made this races even more tough then the other day and more difficult for me as I had to race with the Falcon 102 again because it is my biggest board here in SA. Reminding me my old times in Olympic windsurfing I was pumping almost from the start to finish, but it paid off. I finished 2nd overall and I'm pretty happy about it."
