Virtual Clean Beach Days 2021

Join our worldwide virtual Clean Beach Days from 29.04. – 02.05.2021 to #SaveOurPlaygrounds!

Important Clean Up Facts:

This year, everything is a little different due to the current pandemic situation. In most countries, organized clean ups are not possible at the moment due to local restrictions, but we still want to motivate each single person to go out there and do good. Because every single person can make a difference!

Do you also feel the desire to change something? JOIN US!

We partnered up with Planet Patrol, a community-focused, solution-orientated, non-profit organisation: a movement of people working for a cleaner future. They offer a FREE app to make litter picking and tracking very easy and accessible for everybody, no matter where you are! This is a great chance to organize virtual CLEAN BEACH DAYS during April 29^th and May 2^nd between all Boards & More brands around the world. Choosing a period of four days instead of only one day will hopefully maximize the effect and involve even more people.

1. Get ready

Please download the free Planet Patrol app: Download
Join the #SaveOurPlaygrounds Mission by clicking on ‘Missions’ in the menu bar and then clicking ‘Join Mission’

2. During the Clean Up

The most important rule is to stay safe & healthy and comply with the current covid-19 pandemic hygiene regulations of your location
Keep distance and wear a face mask if requested
We recommend wearing reusable gloves or a litter picker
Please do not use single-use plastic bags to collect litter

3. Step-by-step guide / How to record your collected trash

When you see litter, open the Planet Patrol app, take a photo and tag the type and brand of litter
Record everything in the #SaveOurPlaygrounds Mission inside the free Planet Patrol app
Separate what you pick up into recyclables and non-recyclables
Take pictures during and at the end of the event and share them via social media by using the hashtag #SaveOurPlaygrounds, tag @fanaticsup and motivate your friends to also go out there and do good

But most importantly: have fun & spread the word!

If you don’t feel comfortable picking up litter you can still make a difference by using the Planet Patrol app to record what you find. The information you record is vital evidence that brands and government cannot ignore and takes us closer to developing solutions. All you have to do is take a photo and no touching needed! The “Save Our Playgrounds” initiative from Duotone, ION and Fanatic aims to protect our environment and to preserve these wonderful places for future generations who also want to enjoy the nature and the stoke of our sports. The ocean is our playground, our racetrack and relaxation zone, our source of inspiration and thrill. We love it. Not only for the endless opportunities it offers in regard to watersports but also for the power, strength, and beauty it exudes. Without it, watersports wouldn’t be the same. Yet this essential part of our lives is seriously threatened. Huge amounts of garbage, especially plastic, are endangering our oceans and the wildlife living in it. By now, plastic makes up for most of the marine litter worldwide.
