“From the Lakes to the Mountains” – the #supbikerun race series is back for 2015! It is a unique Triathlon event which is presented by Europe’s leading action sports retailer Surfdome. Set in UK national parks the contest involves paddle boarding, off-road biking and running. After their first #supbikerun event last year, the organisers are planning three events for 2015. Fanatic is proud to be sponsoring the extraordinary event.
“We have flipped the traditional triathlon format on its head”, the organisers say. “The swimming has been replaced with SUP and both the bike and the run courses are set off-road”. Starting in the familiar (for triathletes) setting of Wimbleball Lake this May the event series is set to draw attention from athletes as well as spectators spreading far and wide to some awesome, challenging and scenic locations.
Each event will be limited to 250 participants and involve fixed distances of 3km paddle boarding, 30km off-road biking and 5km trail running. Still each venue will present a different challenge to the participants. There will also be training and taster sessions held in the run-up to each event at each of the three venues.
