When and where did you start Wing Foiling? (…and how) In Tarifa at the Adrenalin Kite&Wing school, a friend of my mum invited me to a lesson with his daughter, to motivate her more to go for the lesson. I liked it straight away, this new sensation and light feeling.
What’s your watersports history – from which side did you enter Winging? (Windsurfing / Kiting / Surfing / Prone Foiling / SUP / Other) Windsurfing and Surfing. Both of my parents are Windsurfers and they surf as well. I started very early with both and always loved to be in the water. We only have waves in winter here in Tarifa. But there is wind almost every day. I really liked Windsurfing and in summer we often went to Gran Canaria. But since I started Wing Foiling I just once went Windsurfing again. Now it is clear for me, Wing Foiling is my sport, even when it is very windy I prefer to get my smallest Wing out and fly.
What do you love about Wing Foiling? The sensation of flying and the possibility of jumping even when there are no waves.
What’s your favourite conditions? 20 knots Levante (side offshore wind from the left) with nice waves.
What’s your top advice for a beginner? Start with an E-Foil lesson, if you never used a foil before and do not overdue the first sessions, because you will suffer afterwards. Better start with shorter sessions of 1,5 hours. And if you have the possibility to get some lessons from a boat even better, to avoid many people and getting tired from walking upwind.
