INFO

When and where did you start Wing Foiling? I started wing foiling in Spring 2019 at our lake called Walchensee. he first time I was winging I had a quiet funny setup. In the beginning I had only one big wing and no fitting board or foil, I went on a big 150 litre windsurf foil board with a race foil. So my first attempts were really tricky with such a big board;) but a fun way to learn a new sport.

What’s your watersports history – from which side did you enter Winging? I come from kitesurfing, windsurf foiling and also river surfing on the wave in Munich.

What do you love about Wing Foiling? It’s just super simple and fun to ride in all kinds of conditions especially in gusty Bavarian winds. I have increased my water time a lot in the past years. The simplicity of rigging up and going to the water makes it the best sport for me. At my home spots kitesurfing is almost impossible and for windsurfing you have to carry way too much gear for light wind. So winging is the perfect match for the Bavarian lakes.

What’s your favourite conditions? 25 knots side shore and 2-meter wave in Klitmøller, Denmark

What’s your top advice for a beginner? Take it easy in the beginning if something doesn’t work as you imagined. Time on the water makes the progress.
