Day eight of the PWA Aloha Classic saw the exciting conclusion of the 2014 PWA Wave World Tour, as Ho’okipa delivered fantastic conditions again. With more west in the swell today, the set waves were reeling, this combined with the slightly more cross offshore wind made for challenging, but great riding. The newly crowned Vice World Champion is Victor Fernandez and Alice Arutkin is in 3rd!
Coming into today’s Double, Fernandez held the upper hand with six wins to Browne’s one in the last seven years. After finishing 3rd in the Single Elimination, Victor landed in 4th place the the Double with some of the highest and best wave scores in the contest, which makes him the official Wave Vice Champ 2014!
Alice Arutkin wins 4 heats in a row in the Double Elimination and ended in 5th, putting her in place 3rd of the PWA Overall ranking 2014!
Well done Alice & Victor – great to see you on top there!!!
