ADDICTED TO RIDE SINCE 81
– IN THE LOOP SINCE TODAY
Welcome to our International Team
We are pleased to announce that for 2021 the young German Freestyle talent Niclas Nebelung was promoted to our International Windsurfing Team. Niclas is part of the German Team for a year now and has proven that he is ready for more. He lives in Kiel/Northern Germany where you can find him working on new moves whenever the wind blows. Right now he is on Bonaire to train in a bit warmer conditions. Stay tuned for more!
We caught up with Niclas to find out more about his promotion!
You are part of the Fanatic International Team - how does that feel?
It feels amazing to be in such a great and successful team! I am super proud and excited for the next years.
Fanatic is probably the biggest name and most successful board brand in the windsurfing industry.
For me, Fanatic always strives to develop the most advanced products on the market.
I really appreciate their innovative work and how they keep pushing the limits. I am super happy and it’s an honor to be part of such an energetic team.
What´s your favourite board from the new range how to you tune it?
My favourite board is the Skate 92l. I use the board with a 19cm MUF Style Pro 03 fin and relatively big footstraps to be able to go switch quickly. I put the footstraps relatively far in front for better sliding and better pop. Regarding the mastfoot position I would simply put it in the middle.
What are your plans/goals for the next season?
Hopefully, we will be able to start events as soon as safely possible. In the beginning of the year, I will fly to Bonaire for some winter training and shooting. Back in Germany I have to take some exams at university and hopefully afterwards the first events will take place. The first events to take place could hopefully be the Düsseldorf Boat Show in April and the Surf Festival on Fehmarn in May.
Which moves are you working on right now?
I want to get more consistent with the Double Air Culo and I want to learn the Double Forward. So far, I haven’t had the guts to commit fully.
